What is Cultural lit•er•a•cy

Cultural literacy is the ability to understand and interpret the multiple ways in which the culture of a community is created. Cultural literacy provides an understanding and appreciation of the arts in various genres that enables individuals to participate in the social and political life of local and global community. In a culturally diverse society, the Arts explore the very nature of culture and enable the sharing of experienced that serve as a framework for greater tolerance and acceptance.
